Hanoi nightlife is still pretty much virgin, most of the bars, pubs will close by midnight and if they don’t close the police will come and obligate them to close, lately is changing with some bars going a bit later, and they already have a new club called Hero I heard they have another one near the shopping mall and Hanoi rock city that maybe goes till 2 or 3 depending on the event they’re hosting.
But Hanoi nightlife is more a street food kind of nightlife, what I mean is people don’t really come to Hanoi to party hard till the sun goes up, if your in searching of this kind of nightlife, perhaps Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Shanghai are a better option even Ho chi minh city.
Bia Hoi is located in the old quarter, there’s allot of backpackers and hostels and its close to some main attraction’s.
You will see people in Bia Hoi, inside some bars or outside some food place, sitting on the small chairs, eating some street food, drinking beer and chilling, you have kebabs,Vietnamese food, nachos, there’s endless choices, street vendors, small souvenirs shops, literally everything you need is in Bia Hoi.
It’s a fun place to chill, in the daytime, nighttime; you will always found a hidden gem, meet people and just spend a good time.
You will find convenience stores like circle K everywhere .
Just choose any eatery in Bia hoi, most of them have english menu with pictures, grab something that looks good.
You need to try the vietnamese kebabs, they are so good, cheap and filling :)
What i love more about Bia hoi, is this sense of fellowship to it,when your inside a bar a club even taught is full of people it can be very individualistic, but sitting outside eating, drinking, moving from place to place, breathing fresh air, meeting new people, because the little tables are so close to each other, is not like a restaurant that you still have a distance from the other tables,in there its everyone together so its easier to mingle around.
